Security Industry Leader Joins the Empire State Building
Edward M. Levy Named Director of Security at the Empire State Building

New York City - April 29, 2009 - The Empire State Building announced today that Edward M. Levy has been appointed Director of Security for the world's most famous office building.
A transformational and innovative leader with more than 26 years of international-level, senior security executive and risk management experience in the U.S. Government and corporate sectors, Levy will lead the Empire State Building’s security team.
"I'm proud to be joining the Empire State Building as Director of Security, and I look forward to applying my diverse experience in the security industry to this new chapter of my career," said Levy. "As a native New Yorker, it's especially exciting to embark on my new position at such an internationally iconic building."
Levy is a recognized leader within the corporate security industry for his expertise in Enterprise Resilience and Operational Risk Management. His role as an antiterrorism expert when working for the U.S. Government has been instrumental in establishing business protection programs in various corporate sectors.

Levy joins the Empire State Building from CIT Group (NYSE: CIT), where he served as the Director and Vice President of Global Security & Business Continuity. Prior to that, he served as the Director for Headquarters & Global Security Operations for Pfizer (NYSE: PFE). In addition, Levy is a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the United States Army and has served more than 21 years as a Military Police Officer.
